A portrait photo of a Belfast City Centre wedding photographer walking up the steps of The Merchant Hotel with cameras in her hands

Well hello there!

I’m Rachel, I’m a full time self employed wedding photographer and part-time photo/film restorer. I live (& grew up) in Belfast, I’ve a dog called Floss, I love good food, the gym/walking, socialising with a cheeky beer, anything creative and I’m not bad on the dance floor.

I shoot weddings all across the country and absolutely love my job. My dad is an artist and my grandfather loved to photograph & film everything. When I left school I went to The University of Ulster in Belfast (or ‘art college’) to study a Foundation Degree in Art & Design and then got my Bachelor of Honours Degree in Photography… that was 14 years ago. There I learnt to hand process film & prints and still work with film; restoring, cleaning, converting… if you have a box of film, photos, tapes that need work I can help!

When I left uni I started in nightclub & event photography part-time (hands up if you remember El Divino?!) whilst shooting some weddings too. I’ve been photographing weddings full-time now for over 8 years.

My photography style is a mix of natural moments along with beautiful portraits in either classic black & white film inspired edits or true to life colour. I want you to really enjoy your wedding day whilst also getting a collection of photos you’ll treasure for a lifetime, plus I reckon I’m a pretty good personal assistant on the wedding day too.

If you’re in need of a photographer or would like some old photos/film brought back to life get in touch via the contact form and I will send you a price list, if you’re interested you have the option to book a zoom or phone call to chat about your wedding and my photography but there’s no obligation to book!

All I want to do is continue to help people capture or bring back those special memories!

Some work achievements…

I was recently named as one of the “Top 20 UK Photographers” by ‘Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine’ and I have been nominated as a finalist for “Wedding Photographer of the Year” at The Northern Ireland Wedding awards in 2019 & 2020 and I’m also regularly published in The Ulster Tatler magazine’s wedding section. Recently The Ballymena Guardian featured my work in an article about restoring my grandfather’s 1950 film photographs, examples of these beautiful black and white medium format images can be found in the film restoration section of my website.
