Poh Chen & Daniel, The Merchant

Poh Chen and Daniel were married in June at St Brigid’s Parish followed by a reception at the Merchant Hotel in Belfast city centre. After the ceremony, I did a large select of family photos for the couple which was very well organised in advance. I then took the couple and bridal party to the front steps of The Merchant Hotel then onto the lively Cathedral Quarter, known for its cobbled streets and artsy vibe. Friends raised pints of Guinness in celebration, adding a local touch to the images. The couple and their friends laughed, and enjoyed the vibrant setting, resulting in memorable photos that captured the day’s spirit and they got a great selection of photos that were both elegant and slightly more relaxed.

Each moment showed love, joy, and the special charm of Belfast, creating a lovely story of their wedding celebration. We did some more group photos with friends in the evening followed by sunset shots on the roof before everyone joined them on the dance floor. During the course of the wedding Layla painted a photo of their ceremony live for guests to watch, it was then presented to them when finished as a beautiful moment to keep from their wedding day!

Here’s what Poh Chen & Daniel said in their review (which is also available to view on Google)…

“I hired Rachel for my wedding on the 1st June 2024. She was took the time to listen to us, was very receptive to what shots we wanted, and she was just so easy to talk to, I felt like I was talking to an old friend.

On the wedding day itself, you could tell she was working really hard in the background, but also being inconspicuous and really blended in with the crowd. She was so easy to work with and to communicate to, and because she had done photoshoots at the locations of my ceremony (St Brigid’s) and reception (The Merchant) previously, she knew all the right locations and right timings to get the right shots.

Rachel is not just an excellent photographer, she is also a professional in putting veils on too! My hairstylist left after she was done with my hair but we all had forgotten about the veil! But Rachel came to the rescue and pinned it down securely and perfectly!
After the wedding we got the first 250 photos back from Rachel, and I was in absolute awe with the photos, and my folks can’t stop looking through them!

Rachel - I can’t thank you enough for capturing our day so perfectly. I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos and I’ll definitely be recommending you to other couples who are looking for a wedding photographer!!”
